Robert William Pierce

	Robert William Pierce, 71, of DuQuoin, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2000 at 7:55 a.m. at Marshall Browning Hospital in DuQuoin.
	Mr. Pierce had worked at Pierces Sewing Machine and Vacuum Sales and Service.  He was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in DeSoto.  He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
	Mr. Pierce was born February 24, 1929 at DuQuoin, the son of Carl and Ruth (Gentz) Pierce.  He married Nadine Muckenthaler on December 26, 2954 at McFarland, KS and she survives.
	In addition to his wife, Nadine Pierce of DuQuoin, he is survived by four children, Rochetta Keller of Tamaroa, Pamela Taylor of Centralia, Robert Kevin Pierce of Thetford, England and Alan Pierce of DuQuoin; one brother, Kenneth Pierce of Old DuQuoin and five grandchildren.
	He was preceded in death by his parents and one son.
	Services were held Saturday, March 11 at 10 a.m. at Neal-McClure Memorial Chapel with Rev. Franklyn Schroeder officiating.  Interment was in Sunset Memorial Park at DuQuoin.
	Friends were able to call at Neal-McClure Funeral Home on Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of services.
	Memorials may be made to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in DeSoto.
